celebrating teej in ohio

Despite the last minute planning and not having the venue until the day before the party, we had about 70 people gathered at the Chapel in Akron to celebrate the early Teej. It was fun to watch the ladies sing and dance in fancy saries and traditional jewelry. The food was fantastic. Thanks to the families who volunteer to cook. It was a nice opportunity to meet the new members of our Nepali community who just came here for their studies and those who joined us for the first time from Twinsburg and Salem, OH. We should thank our teej organizer ladies from Akron and Kent who took charge for everything and turned it into a successful party.

Please be prepare to join the upcoming Dashain Party. NAOO will organize the party to include all the Nepalese from Ohio. Details about the party including the venue will be posted in the NAOO website soon.
